Tim Dennehy is a major talent amongst traditional singers. He is also, like fellow Kerryman Sigerson Clifford, a dexterous wordsmith, a talent he displays to great effect on this album. These talents are showcased particularly in the title track, and in the song Farewell to Pripyat, his chilling account of the Chernobyl disaster. Throughout, what gels is Dennehy's voice, a strong and rich sound, yet gusty and tender where appropriate . . . A marvellous collection.
