Joey Abarta's debut solo recording Swimming Against the Falls (Sn�mh in Aghaidh Easa) is a collection of music performed solo on the uilleann pipes.
It features twelve delightful tracks, comprising tunes he has collected over the years during his various travels, from his friends, and from recordings of past masters.

Mick Moloney called Joey "a delight to be on stage with" and explains that "the enthusiasm and good humor in his personality is translated nicely into his musicianship which always sparkles with exuberance and flair."

Swimming Against the Falls was successfully funded through a Kickstarter campaign in May of 2013 making his goal in the first 20 hours. Produced by Dan Neely. Artwork by Vincent Crotty.
