The Ballinamere C�ili Band was formed in 1947 by Dan Cleary in Co. Offaly. Dan was a founder member of Comhaltas in 1951 and set up the first branches of Comhaltas in Offaly. The band played live on C�ili House for 10 years in the 50's and had a huge influence over traditional music all over Ireland.
