\r\nJosie Nugent (fiddle) and Brian Stafford (uilleann pipes) have established individual reputations in the world of Irish traditional music. \r\n
\r\nIn 2014, they recorded their debut album The Caves of Cong �a project borne with a long love affair with the collections�[1] with guest musicians Alan Burke, Edel McLaughlin and Mary Nugent. \r\n\r\n
\r\nThe tracks on the album draw on a repertoire found in collections, much of which dates from before the Great Hunger.\r\n
\r\nSome of the melodies are unusual versions of commonly known tunes, many may not have been heard in living memory. Their duo playing has been described as fresh, electric and sublime. \r\n\r\n
\r\nA stand out feature of their superb musicianship is the use of instrumentation to create texture, colour and authenticity. \r\n
