McNamara, Veronica - Petticoat Loose
\r\n 2007 Veronica McNamara
\r\n

Traditional Irish Music, played from the heart, at a live music session in New Jersey, led by fiddler extraordinaire Veronica McNamara, including Mike Rafferty (flute) and Willie Kelly (fiddle).\r\n\r\n

Veronica McNamara has been playing Irish fiddle since age 10, and was a pupil of Professor James Morrison for several years. Absolutely no-one can dispute the impact that James Morrison had on traditional Irish music, and for one young girl from Jersey City, NJ, that impression would be the beginning of a passion that would last throughout her life.\r\n\r\n

Born to Irish parents, her father from Co. Leitrim and her mother from Co. Sligo, it's no wonder that Veronica has been so deeply involved with the Irish culture. \r\n\r\n

Petticoat Loose was recorded live at the Irish American Assoc. of NW Jersey in Rockaway Township, NJ. Veronica was asked to lead this special session in honor of her teacher, Professor Morrison.\r\n\r\n

Her love of traditional Irish music shines throughout this CD as she leads all the musicians, including special guests Willie Kelly and Mike Rafferty, through some great, rousing tunes. This live recording of a traditional Irish session will make you want to get on your feet and dance a step or two!\r\n\r\n
