After several line-up changes flute player Gerry Phelan joined the band and Over the Moor to Maggie sets off with his whistle playing on the title track. The new Oisn sound was harder and more gutsy than before. Lady Leroy showed their power with gripping arrangements while The Bonny Light Horseman has Geraldine at her heartrending best. The Flogging Reel has guest producer Paddy Glackin joining in, toughening up the instrumental charge. Over the Moor to Maggie is one of the unsung Irish 80's albums. Oisn were the dark horses in the Irish revival but they sure could pull the classics out. - John O'Regan
